About Oil On Water Press
Launching: OIL ON WATER PRESS, a new book imprint devoted to true-life stories and memoir.
The independent book publisher Headpress announces the launch of a new imprint, Oil On Water Press. Oil On Water Press will open its virtual doors in February 2022, with all-new books devoted to original, personal, slice of life memoirs you won’t find anywhere else.
In a way, Oil On Water Press grew out of the Headpress submissions pile. In an interview for Writers magazine in 2021, publisher David Kerekes explained:
“We see a lot of submissions for books that fall outside the Headpress remit (film and music), but which we found interesting, and that’s how Oil On Water came about. The small slice of life memoirs that are more personal in approach really began to draw us in.”
Among the first books to appear under the Oil On Water imprint is Heavy Metal Headbang by Melissa Meszaros, a Hollywood publicist who is on her way to see Judas Priest when she sustains a Traumatic Brain Injury and begins to question everything. Other books to follow in 2022 include A Way Up: 1 Woman Across the Pacific NW by Paula Engborg, and Letting Go the Leash by Stephen Ellis Hamilton, about the pandemic, tornadoes, and a hundred-pound rescue dog.
“These are brutally honest stories,” says David.
The website oilonwaterpress.com goes live on February 28, 2022.
